My friend just gave birth and I would like to bring something when I go over to see the baby. I was thinking about flowers, but I am wondering if there are concerns with allergies or making the baby sick. I don%26#039;t want to mak a major faux pas on my first time meeting the little guy! Thanks!
Are flowers ok for a newborn?
I got loads of flowers and they did nothing to the baby. But you can go a little different... I got a chocolate bouquet from one friend, containing loads of chocolates (obviously), a mug with a cigar for the daddy, some perfume and a watch for mommy and a big blue teddy bear for baby (pink if it%26#039;s a girl). He bought it at a florist, so you may want to check into that. He spent a little extra money, but I%26#039;m sure they make different kinds. It%26#039;s a little different and I liked it more than the bunch of flowers, plus we all got to keep something from the hamper.
Reply:I%26#039;d give something different. See if you can find an edible arrangement or something to snack on. Thats what i would have loved when i was in the hospital after i had my son. Hospital food sucks and the stuff in the cafeteria is expensive.
Reply:I had lots of people bring me flowers and balloons, but it would be super special if you brought a memento, like one of those baby handprint makers.
Reply:well as far as I%26#039;m concerned everyone that Ive known has taken flowers, but to be safe why not a teddy for him an some sort of treat for her.
Reply:just in case i wouldnt bring them. can never be too careful, bring her something yummy instead.
Reply:Bring her a package of newborn diapers
Reply:i wouldent bring then
Reply:i got TONS of flowers in the hospital..its a nice thing to do

Flower bouquets made from baby clothes!!?
I have made flower corsages out of baby socks. You fold the socks to make them look like little buds, wire and wrap them and arrange them with some ribbon and whatever else you want to add.

How to take care of baby snails?
My snails are really tiny kinds. They stay in the water though i dunno the breed. The adults are just 1 cm long. their babies just came out not long ago, and i am not sure of how to care for them. they are TINY. 1mm i suppose. the adults eat leaves and flowers. What about the babies?
How to take care of baby snails?
if you leave them alone, you will have about 5,000 of them within 2 months.
the baby snail that was eaten, was probably dead or close to death, snails very rarely attack. they eat anything, and they are hermaphrodites, they can switch their sex, so if two are boys, one can become a girl. they breed very quickly.
i had one snail that grew to be huge, but i also would drop in a few kernals of canned corn or peas when i opened it up. they will eat fish food and algea and dead fish and plants.
Reply:their mummy and daddy will know, then will show them and then u can copy that
Reply:Are they fresh water snails? I%26#039;m guessing you may have pond snails (round), trumpet snails, or rams horn snails. At any rate, they babies will fend for themselves and if the adults eat one or two it won%26#039;t matter too much as they pretty much multiply exponentially.
Adding some additional aquatic plants can help for hiding places for the smaller ones (and provides food). You can also put some zucchini, kale or romaine lettuce in the tank at night for some extra food.
Reply:there going to eat plant%26#039;s. i have about 100 of them, the male and female can both have baby%26#039;s yes the male, so you will have a LOT in a month or so. and a lot of fish will eat them. and the snail that%26#039;s eating them it%26#039;s getting rid of the bad ones.
Reply:Just leave them alone. They will fend for themselves.
And thats just part of nature. It happens. They are snails. They arent very smart;)

Year Old Baby In Wedding??? Cute or Not???
My fiancees neice will be a little over a year old on our wedding day and we love her to death so we would like her in the wedding. The flower girl is 3 and has been in 4 weddings already so she knows what she is doing. Will it be cute to have the flower girl pull the baby in a wagon or something down the aisle. The baby doesn%26#039;t cry very much and her parents are in the wedding so she will be looking at them.
Year Old Baby In Wedding??? Cute or Not???
I think its a really good idea and its cute to if the baby can walk have the 3 year old hold her hand down the aisle and congratulations!!!!
Reply:I personally think it%26#039;s a great idea to have her! So what if she cries, that%26#039;s just what babies do. I also think it%26#039;ll be darling that she%26#039;s in a wagon. It%26#039;s your special day, have whoever you want to share it with you! Best wishes to you, I%26#039;ll be so much fun! :) And just as cute as can be too!
Reply:I was at a wedding where two babies were pulled down the aisle in a wagon, and everything worked out perfectly. Just be prepared to scrap the idea if the baby is not feeling well on your wedding day.
Reply:I think its great to have your niece in the wedding!! My niece will also be just over a year when I am married and I plan on her walking with my 3 and 5 year old sisters as a flower girl!! It will be a great memory for all of you as well. I really don%26#039;t know how it could be tacky to have someone you love in your wedding.
Reply:Babies are unpredictable and things could go either way depending on their mood that day and hour and minute.
Reply:maybe.
but if she cries, it will be a disaster
Reply:If you don%26#039;t mind if she does not perform perfectly and it is important to you I say go for it. I would make sure there is someone she is comfortable with in the front row to grab her if she gets upset.
Reply:That would be cute, as long as you take the baby out right after so that she doesn%26#039;t disrupt the ceremony for you or your guests. I know you said she doesn%26#039;t cry very much, but you never know when babies are going to be irritable.
Reply:I think the unpredictability of a child that young is scary, plus, you%26#039;re really asking alot of her, IMO. I%26#039;m sure it would be a little frightening for her to have all those people staring at her, waiting for her to perform on cue.
Reply:No way.
Reply:No, it won%26#039;t be cute.
Reply:I think the wagon is a very cute idea...just make sure its not some big red wagon...you know decorate it...lol...but the idea is unique and very cute...
Reply:I%26#039;ve only seen this work once. The child was old enough to walk. She went down the aisle in a wagon . . . but once up front, she climbed out of the wagon and walked up to the front row of seats to her grandpa. Grandpa had a supply of snacks on hand and fed them to her throughout the ceremony. She wondered around a bit . . . but was quiet and did not disturb anyone.
Usually, a one-year-old is much too young to participate . . . and usually ends up crying. Just be sure you have someone handy to whisk the child away, if she starts loudly crying.
It is probably kinder to leave a child this age to play with a babysitter in a back room. The child can be dressed up and brought out to be in family photos. Then she can be sent back to babysitter, so her parents can enjoy the reception with you.
Reply:that sounds so cute and very special. I%26#039;m sure the parents of the baby will be honoured that she is in the wedding. I will look so cute and adorable! I think it%26#039;s a good idea and it will work out so well. Maybe have the flowergirl walk the baby down aisle or even the wagon idea sounds good. All sounds so cute.
Reply:that will be adorable!
i have a 2 year old nephew and a 1 month old niece and they were in a wedding as the ring bearer and the %26quot;flower girl%26quot; it was adorable.
Reply:I went to a wedding where the bride had her 2 kids in it.
The baby was just over a year and couldn%26#039;t walk (well). The mom planned to have the baby pulled in a wagon. She wanted her brother%26#039;s baby to also be pulled in the wagon. The baby was under a year and the mom refused for fear the her baby would fall out.
The bride had her son pulled in the (undecorated -- ran out of money %26amp; time) wagon. It looked rediculous! If the child couldn%26#039;t walk, he should have been seated on his grandparents lap! Grandma could have paraded him down the isle on the way to her seat.
Reply:It would be very cute as long as it all works out.
Reply:No, definitely not cute. I%26#039;d say tacky
Reply:The wagon idea is adorable, I think it is really cute give her, her own little basket or flowers to hold, it will help keep her occupied as well. It sounds really cute!
Reply:yeah i think that would be very cute... take a look here

Reply:just decide if a year old baby panicking at being pulled in a wagon and starting to scream and trying to get out of the wagon and possibly falling out of it halfway down the aisle is worth it to ya.
thats your answer.
Reply:It%26#039;s not necessary but it%26#039;s your wedding just do what you like.
Reply:Hmm...you love her, the flower girl is 3....yea it would be cute considering the circumstances. People who say otherwise probably wouldn%26#039;t ever want kids at their wedding, but thats their preference.
Reply:I think it would be adorable. Have fun on your special day
Reply:No. I can see the three year old pushing her down the aisle and tipping her over.

Every time you hear a new born baby cry a flower grows?
Thats why I believe
I hear this song in Church sometimes...Can it mean a new life comes into the world and a long living old person dies...
It does not really happen to see a flower grow
People say you are OK as long as you are above ground and have another chance to be good
What do you think....Moving out of the way for the younger generation...
Every time you hear a new born baby cry a flower grows?
This lyric affirms life%26#039;s value even in the face of death.
Everyone has the chance to evolve on the path to extinction.
Don%26#039;t fret. It is not total annihilation as we all live on, somehow, in those people and accomplishments that we leave behind.
Reply:Nina,
I believe that a baby is the only thing in which the having is better than the wanting.Your family is blessed. Accept my wishes and prayers that you feel better. Thank you. Report It
Reply:There is a poem that is popular in religious circles which discusses the concept of a belief in a higher power because of the miracles of life which we see every day.
However, I don%26#039;t believe that there is a mention of a cause and effect between a baby crying and a flower growing.
The point of the poem is that both activities are miracles of life which induce one to believe.

Can I feed my baby bearded dragon the flower and greens of a dandelion?
there are a bunch around my neighborhood and i wanted to know if they are alright to feed him. he is a baby
Can I feed my baby bearded dragon the flower and greens of a dandelion?
Yes, the greens are especially good. You just have to be sure no insecticides or fertilizers were used on them, and wash them really well. Many baby beardies are no good salad eaters, but you should always make him up a fresh salad every day anyway. As they mature, they will eat at least 50% salad as their diet.
Reply:Yes be careful they havent been sprayed with poisones chemicals. Mine loves dandelions.

How do take photos of babies and put them in flowers etc?
i ve got some lovely pics of my 7mth old son but the backgrounds are awful how do you change the background? or better still how do you do it so that the babies are sitting in the middle of a flower etc!?
How do take photos of babies and put them in flowers etc?
I%26#039;m using Photoshop CS3 and I%26#039;ll normally use one of two tools...
1. the extract filter
2. I%26#039;ll use the quick selection tool to select whatever I want to isolate from the background, feather the selection and paste it into a new layer by hitting Control-J. Then you can add another layer for your background.
I prefer the quick selection tool but the extract tool works better when you%26#039;re dealing with hair or edges that aren%26#039;t well defined.
There are tutorials that explain how to do this much better than I can. Just do a google search and you should be able to find one

Reply:Dip in batter and fry
Reply:They are very popular here in Cyprus. Here is the recipe we use.
Zucchini flowers (should be kept open by adding one into the other. Preferably collected early in the morning).
Rice (not long-grain or parboiled)
Ripe tomatoes or tomato paste
Fresh or dried mint leaves
Onion (finely chopped)
Salt, pepper
Olive oil (sunflower oil could be used too)
How to do:
Wash the flowers and the rice
Mix the rice with chopped mint leaves, finely chopped tomatoes (or tomato paste), onion, salt and pepper.
Fill the flowers with this mixture, and close the end of flower petals to prevent the rice from getting out.
Place them at the bottom of a pot, tightly close to each other. Pour some olive oil over them, add enough water to prevent them from sticking to the bottom or getting burned (not too much water, since we don%26#039;t want a soup). Place a flat plate upside down over the stuffed flowers).
Cook over low to medium heat. When rice is soft, they are done.
Serve warm or cold depending on taste. The name in Turkish is %26quot;Çiçek dolması%26quot; (stuffed flowers).
p.s. the ingredients and preparation/cooking is the same as %26quot;stuffed vine leaves%26quot;.

2. Make a well in the centre, pour in the olive oil and stir to combine.
3. Slowly add in the water until you have a batter the consistency of a thick cream.

6. Season the ricotta with some salt and pepper.
7. Push 1 tsp ricotta and a basil leaf inside each flower.

13. Carefully place as many as you can without touching into the hot oil.
14. Fry until light brown, then turn and brown on the other side.
15. Drain on paper towel and serve with a squeeze of lemon.

Baby gift / baby shower gift? need new ideas?
im looking for a new idea of what to make for a baby gift for a shower. ive done a nappy cake, bunch of socks and baby clothes (bunch of flowers) and gift baskets/hampers. has anyone got any other ideas of what i can do. i enjoyed making the sock bouquets... is there anything i can do similar but in a different shape! i like unusual so all ideas welcome
Baby gift / baby shower gift? need new ideas?
my girlfriend bought a bunch of cloths for my daughter and put them on a cloths line with cloths pins and then laid them in a tall hamper with a note on the end of the line that said %26quot;pull slowly%26quot; It was amazing! She went way over board and the line stretched about 50 feet long. It was the hit of our shower. So our gift was a cute pink hamper and a ton of cloths. I am not a fan of the diaper cakes because we didn%26#039;t like the diapers and I ended up not using them at all.
Reply:I%26#039;m not sure what a nappy cake is, but at my shower I got a diaper cake. It had three layers, each with a different size diaper. The diapers were laid sideways and sorta spiraled around each other. Then it was tied with decorative ribbon.
It was really cool and everyone %26quot;oohed%26quot; and %26quot;aahed.%26quot;
Reply:As a parent of 2 babies, anything you can make with diapers, wipes and formula is the best gift. Sorry I can%26#039;t be more help, but those were the things I likes getting the best.
Reply:At my baby shower, one of my aunt%26#039;s made a dreamcatcher and moccasins for my daughter. I have to say it was my absolute favorite gift (I plan on putting them in a framed box now that my daughter is too big to fit in her little shoes)!
What about trying to bake cakes/snacks, or seeing what the expecting mother may have up on her registry?
I wish I had better ideas, but I%26#039;m all out atm.

My unborn baby's daddy is deceased..?
His parents think we should do someting special at his grave related to the baby the next time we change the flowers %26amp; decorations. I was thinking doing baby blue %26amp; light pink flowers and a banner that said %26quot;daddy to be%26quot;. Does this sound stupid???
Please give your insight and/or any suggestions you may have.
And, I%26#039;m not farther along to know the sex of the baby so it can%26#039;t be gender specific.
thank you!
My unborn baby%26#039;s daddy is deceased..?
Sorry to read about your loss. May God give you and your family the strength to face these troubles of life with firmness and patience. The Quran says %26quot;God is with the patient people.%26quot;
Your idea is not stupid at all. When you do it, I recommend that you remember to take photos or video so that your coming baby see it and know that his/her father was special to you and his family.
Now that I%26#039;ve had my baby a couple of months ago, I know how special a baby is, and I know how a baby needs BOTH his parents. Life might have a different opinion, but you can still give your baby the benefit of a dad, even though he is not living anymore: you%26#039;ll need to work on that in the coming years, by talking to the baby about his/her dad, and giving them a clear idea about who he was.
My wife used to talk a lot to our baby when he was in the womb. We think that it was very good for him.. You might wish to try that.
Take care of yourself, and remember that there are people here as well who are praying for you and for the baby.
Peace/salaam.

PLEASE VOTE FOR MY BABY!!! participation is seriously greatly appreciated! thanks...?
Hi my name is Mira and I%26#039;m from Hawaii. I entered my baby%26#039;s picture in a baby contest from a local radio station. If my baby wins, I get a year supply of diapers plus some other stuff and also, her picture gets to go up on a banner of a concert that they (the radio station) hold every year called the Birthday Bash.
Please go to kccnfm100.com/07bashbaby and click on Click HERE to cast your vote right under the FITTI symbol.
Then, another page comes up and click on View Photos on Kindfish.
Click on REGISTER.
Enter your info (and for those of you who are iffy about putting in your email addy, you can jus make up one.)
When you hit the Join Kindfish button it will take you to the page of all the babies. My baby should be on the first page. She%26#039;s the one with the bigger flower in her ear (there%26#039;s another baby with a flower in her ear, too, but hers is smaller.) If you click on the picture you%26#039;ll see that she got her thumb up too.
Jus hit the Hook it Up button and your vote goes

Baby competitions are rigged, do you really want your baby winning a competition a pile of strangers have voted for your baby in? does that mean your baby truely is the cutest?
Though your baby is cute, you dont need confirmation from some silly contest.
goodluck though!
Reply:This is yahoo questions and answers not a baby beauty contest site. but thanks for the two points.
Reply:Done it :) hope you win, good luck
Reply:I totally agree with the others who said this is a scam, and that Yahoo answers shouldn%26#039;t be used this way. I strongly believe that baby contests should be banned! every baby is cute in their own way and even if the Mum doesn%26#039;t think so initially, it certainly takes time to bond with your wee one. Even if the flower or whatever is bigger than the other one! this just causes a lot more problems for the kids when they%26#039;re bigger, i.e. %26quot;I%26#039;m prettier than her%26quot; - which I think is not realistic competition and certainly not the nicest competitive characteristic to have. Competition is fine, when it%26#039;s realistic and personal greatness is the result, but not beauty - whatever beauty is.
Anyway, give your girl a hug and let her know you love her and she is the most beautiful girl in the world to you!

My friend just had a baby?
i dont know what to get her while she is still in the hospital. she is my best friend i am totally clueless. what would you guys like when you have your babys? flowers? what if the baby is like allergic. a stuffy?? maybe. idk
and another thing idk what hospital she is in. like i dont know the name. ill figure that out though. what do you think?
My friend just had a baby?
Don%26#039;t get flowers. When I gave birth to my son we had so much stuff to carry out of the hospital that we had to leave the flowers behind. I felt really guilty as people paid a lot of money to send us flowers, but we just didn%26#039;t have room in our car for them!
I would recommend something for when she returns home. She will be tired and need extra help. Have meals delivered to her, or something along those lines. The %26quot;best gift%26quot; I recieved post-partum was my husband%26#039;s coworker%26#039;s wife made us a big chicken pot pie dinner. It fed us for a couple of nights, and we didn%26#039;t have to cook. Another thing she might enjoy are some bath salts. She will be sore, and might enjoy a relaxing soak in the tub if she has time.
Reply:Personally, I would have loved to have dinner from a favorite restaurant brought in to me . That way her and her husband do not have to worry about what they are going to eat and him having to leave and get it.
I also enjoyed monogrammed items with the baby%26#039;s name or intitials on stuff. They work as a heirloom when the baby has outgrown the items.
If you don%26#039;t have a lot of money to spend, I would recommend letting the new mother know you are there for her when she is exhausted and needs a nap. Tell her you would love to sit for her and the baby when daddy goes back to work. New mothers love to take naps and showers( since they never get too, lol) !!!!
Reply:Wait until she%26#039;s home.
I get the feeling you%26#039;re talking about a younger mom, please don%26#039;t be insulted if this isn%26#039;t the case, but maybe get her a book of helpful hints for dealing with babies. There are a lot of them out there, and it could save her a lot of time and frustration later if she has something she can pull out and look information up in at four a.m. when the baby won%26#039;t stop crying.
Other ideas:
If she doesn%26#039;t have a camera, a low-end, reasonably priced digital camera (if she has a computer) would be much better than flowers.
A piece of jewelry with her baby%26#039;s birthstone in it.
Or any of the other suggestions made would be good as well.
Reply:I wouldn%26#039;t go with flowers. I would send balloons with a teddy bear or stuffed animal for the baby. Most florists have them. If you don%26#039;t know what hospital she%26#039;s at, just ask her, her family or a mutual friend.
Reply:I had a baby 7 months ago, out of all the stuff I got at the hospital my favorite was a pair of new pajamas. It was something for me %26amp; they came in handy in the following days.
Good Luck to your friend : )
Reply:I suggest getting something just for her..She has just gone through the hard process of giving birth, then pamper her with some fun bath stuff...Body washes and lotions bath beads..maybe things like that. Might help her feel more like herself again.
Reply:For your friend, any thing that picks her up! A cute shirt or outfit would definitely be a plus.
Reply:I liked when someone brought me food from a good place. Get her a little goody bag becuase it will be the last for a while

Baby Einstein lady from The State of the Union last night. Is she single?
wow....she was pretty smokin hot. plus, it sounded like she might be loaded. How can I find out more about her? Where can I send her flowers? you intrigue me %26quot;baby Einstein%26quot; lady.

her name is hyphenated but that doesn%26#039;t mean she didn%26#039;t get divorced...and if she sold the company to disney im sure shes loaded...wonder if she had anything to do with the disney show Little Einsteins

Why is the sky, or a flower, or a baby, etc, all supposed to be proof of god?
What about earthquakes, and childhood cancer, deformities, and forest fires, etc? Those are apparently proof of man%26#039;s sin, correct?
What kind of being would tease you with a beautiful flower and then curse your child with cancer for the sin of other humans? Is this really an acceptable god to you? %26quot;Look what I can do but too bad for you, your grandparents to the Nth degree messed up%26quot;.
Why is the sky, or a flower, or a baby, etc, all supposed to be proof of god?
The %26quot;argument from stuff%26quot; really does nothing to answer any questions. If a tree requires a creator, why would I have to assume the same one made the trees that also did the rocks? Why not a whole host of specific item gods? In fact, I don%26#039;t think that any argument they use would lead one naturally to think that only their God is responsible for anything. They just use that as an assumption.
Reply:%26quot;What about earthquakes, and childhood cancer, deformities, and forest fires, etc? Those are apparently proof of man%26#039;s sin, correct?%26quot;
Nope, still proof of God. Cause and effect would seem to point towards creation requiring a creator.
Reply:%26quot;Bad things%26quot; aren%26#039;t curses from God. All circumstances in life result from self-created karma.
Reply:sometimes things don%26#039;t make sense..but i believe we are all her for a purpose and when we reach our purpose we go back to god...but sometimes his plans are interrupted by evil aka the devil. see god doesn%26#039;t control our life%26#039;s he gives us the freedom to develop like a flower does in our own time..and although seeing a child go through pain or see people die is horrible, but lessons are sometimes taught the hard way. what you should take from those situations is, life isn%26#039;t perminate and the people you love can go at anytime in any situation, so always be there, and live with then to the fullest while you have the option..don%26#039;t take health or life for granted..that%26#039;s how you build appreciation for living.
Reply:The devil did it!
Reply:Only God could create such beautiful things. Disease and natural disasters aren%26#039;t God%26#039;s way of %26quot;cursing%26quot; us, they are just things you have to go through in life. God never promised life without trials, but he did promise us the strength to overcome those trials.
Reply:Nothing is good or bad from system%26#039;s perspective. It%26#039;s going on and will go on as per the defined rules and regulation. With the frame-work of this system, we have created our own false World, with the help of mind. Mind is in a habit of categorizing good and bad for it%26#039;s own existence. What ever it likes, it tries to repeat, which is a greed. What ever it dislikes, it tries to avoid, which is a fear.
Reply:All of the credit and none of the blame. The job of deity sounds like a pretty good one.
Reply:I don%26#039;t think the occupation of God is to create or explain all of the %26quot;whys%26quot; or things your referring to.
Couldn%26#039;t God possibly be very different from that, ie have a different role than %26quot;causing%26quot; things?
Maybe he only caused the universe to a certain point and then after that he doesn%26#039;t control or create further.
What is here is doing the causing. Maybe that is what is referred to as %26quot;free will%26quot;.
This seems so obvious to me. Why would it elude anyone?
I admit, I may be a complete idiot here but I have not heard anything else that makes sense.
Reply:cuz He made them.
Reply:Ever question why a book written several thousand years ago can be so accurate and things that are happening and have happened were predicted long, long ago? What more proof do you people need?
God did not curse a child with cancer, neither did HE curse humans with Illness! Satan did! Until you understand who%26#039;s on your side and what%26#039;s happening in your world, you%26#039;ll always have hatred and be anger. That%26#039;s how cunning and confusing satan can be!
Reply:What%26#039;s sad is they actually WILL defend that. Tsk tsk..
Reply:Then you have to look at all of the subjective beauty. How much of it can be attributed to God? I consider a decaying building to be one of the most beautiful things on this planet, while most consider it an eyesore. So, is that a blessing or a curse from said deity?
Reply:The ignorant love to blame things on the %26quot;supernatural%26quot; because they don%26#039;t know of any other way to deal with it. If they had any smarts, then they wouldn%26#039;t need mythology to explain things for them...simple minds need simple explanations.
Reply:go to site.if you really want to get answers , true, answers , because altho people on here give you very good answers you still dont want to accept them you will always have your excuse to not believing so then why ask. this site is chuck full of almost any question you have and most of it is audio . and if you dont want to accept that than do you really want to know the truth at all, or are you still going to make excuses.

Reply:%26quot;What about earthquakes, and childhood cancer, deformities, and forest fires, etc? Those are apparently proof of man%26#039;s sin, correct?%26quot;
Nope, still proof of God. Cause and effect would seem to point towards creation requiring a creator.

It looks like an alligator plant. If it has small plantlets that develope in the margins of the leaf then that is definetly what you have. I included a picture of the alligator plant and one with flowers. It is actually a Bryophyllum.
Reply:yea or mother of millions or narrow leaf maternity plant same thing... Report It
Reply:I have heard it called a lace curtain plant because all you have to do is pin it to a curtain and it will grow. I don%26#039;t know the Latin name.

Where did the concept of leaving flowers on graves originate? isnt it impractical?
i bought some flowers for my dear baby who died recently. but as i laid them on her grave, i thought, %26quot;wouldnt it be more practical to keep them in the house, in her honor, and enjoy them on her behalf? besides, her sprirt would most likely be in the house with me...not at her grave.%26quot; but i decided, i would leave them at the grave so it could have flowers....%26quot; but i culdnt help wondering....do people leave flowers on graves for the dead or for decoration? would it be wrong to just buy flowers and keep them in the home in her honor, rather than on her grave? im serious. i think if i die, i would want my loved ones to get flowers and keep them and think of me...this queston isnt meant to be insensitive...i was just really curious
Where did the concept of leaving flowers on graves originate? isnt it impractical?
First of all, my sympathies on the loss of your child.
I believe that the tradition of leaving flowers the gravesite was pretty much started by the Victorians. but then I%26#039;ve seen that it supposedly started with the ancient Celts.
I don%26#039;t think that is wrong at all to want to have the flowers in the house rather than on the gravesite. Lots of people do that, so it%26#039;s not at all unusual. When my mother passed, she was cremated. Where her ashes were buried, I had a rose bush planted in her honor because she loved roses
There are a lot of different ways to remember someone who has passed, just depends on the family%26#039;s tradition and culture.
Reply:I am very sorry you lost your baby. There is no right way or wrong way to show respect or greave for loved ones, IMHO. Sometimes people see others doing something and think they have to also, but doing your own thing can lead others to think in less conventional ways.

I'm looking for a how to on making a baby shower flower arrangement out of washcloths etc. Have seen before.
I know of the diaper cake, you could put flowers on it :). Here is a site with different diaper cakes, then the mom can keep them. I think it is adorable. If you used newborn diapers, I am sure you could make a bunch of little ones.
I%26#039;m looking for a how to on making a baby shower flower arrangement out of washcloths etc. Have seen before.
all i know is a tree. which you wrap the wash cloths one at a time. (roll them) then you put like 8 together (we used ribbon) tie them and then 4 then 2. We also put a baby bottle in the middle for support. I also seen them done were they tied things to the tree like spoons or small toys. Any thing that is a small item.
Reply:I am not sure of a website but i am sure if you go into google and search something there something is bound to pop up about it.. i have never heard of it so if you find a site send me a pic of one.. it sounds neat.

Babies and flowers?!?
my husband sent me roses and lilys..they smell kinda strong and i have them in my room. my 4 month old daughter sleeps in here also..is it bad for her to breathe it in?
Babies and flowers?!?
I do not believe so. I worked at a flower shop and delivered fresh flowers to maternity wards in hospitals all the time. If it were an issue that wouldn%26#039;t be allowed. Just enjoy the fact that you have a hubby that still thinks of things like that! And enjoy your little one too! They are a blessing aren%26#039;t they?

Does anyone else have a problem with baby mama drama?
I have tried everything in my power to be nice to this girl (22 years old but you cant tell). I have been with my husband for over two years and she has been nothing but a problem since day one. When we started dating she was eight months preganant and of course they weren%26#039;t together. She did not know who the father of her child was adn she called occasionally just to tell him how her appointments went, but after she had her daughter she lost her mind. paternaty was never established because she looks a lot like him so he just didn%26#039;t question it, which i kind of understand. we both fell in love with this little girl...i was the one who drove two hours to get him from schol just so he could be there for her birth, and went to the hospital everyday bringing her flowers and the baby toys and things. After about two weeks sthe statred calling asking why they couldnt be a family and telling me they were having sex which i knew wasnt true because everytime he went to see her

I was in the same situation as you. Make sure he get paternity..the rest of it, according to the COURTS its none of your business. UNLESS you witnessed something that was harmful to the child. Just be there to support your man...custody is a hard fight for men. When i was in that situation i really feel that when i was brought into it that caused the court to deny him custody. Tread carefully. If you have to document all the things she has said or did to you...that way if brought up in court you have a record (don%26#039;t go off memory alone). For now...kill her with kindness. If she starts in on you..just hand the phone to your man. Let him deal with it.
I know its hard to stand by and watch. But you are there by his side and that%26#039;s the most important right now..

Next keep records of all money and gifts and visits. DO NOT BE ALONE with either the child or the child%26#039;s mother! If she is mentally unstable you have to prove it. It is hard and even then doesn%26#039;t guarantee a change of custody. You will need people to testify against her that know her. You will need any legitimate criminal background on her you can get. Drugs or assaults are best.
Custody is tricky. It all boils down to the Judge. A good Lawyer will get the judge that has a track record of giving custody to males. As a general rule the woman gets it. You have an advantage the two of you are married and can probably support the child better than she can.
Your biggest problem is the Birth Certificate he should have put his name on it. Until Paternity can be established you will get know where. Remember GOOD lawyer and strong offense. If she files first or puts you on the legal defense you are screwed. Good Luck It is hard but if you pray do that too. I will pray for y%26#039;all as well.
Reply:Establish paternity.
Go through the courts and establish visitation/custody rights.
Keep everything as civil, simple and documented as possible.
Let your husband deal with her and tell her why you are doing the above. He has his rights and responsibilities too.

The only song I know of with that title is the one recorded by The Supremes (Diana Ross, vocals) back in the mid-60%26#039;s -- however, the chorus is different.
If you think you%26#039;ve got the right lyrics, just put them in quotation marks and Google them and see what you come up with. You%26#039;d be amazed at how many sets of lyrics for rock and pop songs are available on the net these days.

Babies funeral question about flowers?
my cousin just had a still born really hard tym she is only 18 so its hard to deal wit arrangin a funeral
ive told her ill help out n get the flowers for the funeral n get afew single loose roses or sumthin too just wanted to kno wat flowers r best for a babies funeral if u could tell me that would be great
Babies funeral question about flowers?
Talk to a local florist. They can suggest things to you.
Personally, on funeral arrangements or flowers for a child, I usually suggest a mixture of white, peach and light pink tea roses or some call them baby roses. That%26#039;s if it%26#039;s within spending range. Carnations add a nice touch, and are less expensive (almost 2-3 dollars cheaper per carnation stem compared to a single rose). You can also get miniatures in those. Usually, with a child%26#039;s funeral, we use the mini flowers.
I am soo deeply sorry for the loss.
Reply:sorry for the loss. I only know that Carnations are considered a funeral flower. Hope that helped a little bit.
Reply:I would suggest roses. They%26#039;re pretty traditional and come in a number of colors. I would suggest white or yellow for a baby boy and pink or lavender for a baby girl.

Reply:If you can afford it, white roses and babies breath can signify returning the pure love of a child to God. Pink roses white carnations and babies breath can make a nice spray arrangement on the casket for a baby girl and for a boy something similar in blue. Some people like a stuffed animal in the arrangement and the parents are given this as a keepsake. A good florist in your town should be able to help you. I am so sorry for your loss.

Do you know the name of the person who does pictures of babies inside flowers, fruits, etc.?
My sister got some years ago 2 greeting cards with this photos. In one there are 3 opened water melons and there are one cure baby inside of each one. the other card had some tulips and there were also some babies going out of them. Does someone know the name of the person that does them? I have really tried to find the name in ternet without result.

Is it appropriate to send flowers to a new mommy?
I%26#039;m going to visit my friend in the hospital next week when she has a new baby, and I want to take her some flowers. could the flowers give the baby allergies?
Is it appropriate to send flowers to a new mommy?
It%26#039;s fine! If the baby shows some symptoms, then she can take them out. It will be a great gesture. I felt crappy the whole time I was in there, flowers made my day.
Reply:its fine, I wish I got some flowers : (
Reply:It%26#039;s fine to give the new mommy flowers.
She%26#039;d love them.
Reply:Yes, yes, Yes. If they give the baby allergies then they%26#039;ll just remove them...there is no way of knowing until you try. I%26#039;d of loved to have gotten flowers or a plant that I could keep growing and give to my daughter when she moves out to take with her.
Reply:Yes! The new mom will most likely appreciate the gesture! Even if the baby turns out to be allergic (it%26#039;s unlikely... unless the mom or dad are sensitive to flowers too, then i%26#039;d be careful).
Reply:Flowers are a wonderful thing to give a new Mommy...go for it!
Reply:sure. maybe with a little stuffed bear that the baby can play with once its older
Reply:Yes it is appropriate.
Reply:Flowers are great. However, I got a lot of flowers and it was hard to take all those home. I was excited when someone got me a small box of chocolates and some lotions that I could use while in the hospital.
Reply:I would send them to her house, not the hospital, but that%26#039;s just me. At the hospital where I delivered they don%26#039;t allow flowers or plants to be delivered because they can give some babies allergies. My hubby bought me a big Rose and put it in a solitaire, that was it.
Reply:It%26#039;s perfectly appropriate to send flowers. :)
Reply:I got flowers from my fiances boss and it made my whole day! I think it%26#039;s a great idea for a brand new sleep deprived mommy to know someone is thinking of her :)
Reply:If they do, the flowers will be removed and it%26#039;s really a very sweet thought.
Reply:I got flowers with my new son.
However, if there are severe allergies in the family, I%26#039;d be careful. (My MIL has terrible allergy to lavender so we steer clear of that with my son until he%26#039;s much older) Try balloons (though some are allergic to latex like me so get the mylar ones).
Blessings to you.

Reply:appropriate and more than likely, much appreciated. I%26#039;m hoping to get some here soon. Newborns don%26#039;t have allergies (at least not environmental). Food allergies can develop but only as new foods are introduced into the diet which wouldn%26#039;t be for another several months. Check out this article if you want a more detailed explanation as to why.

Immunology is incredibly complicated but I do remember this much from nursing school. Plus, ordered flowers are very unlikely to have many of the common culprits (weeds, pollens and grasses) that would induce an allergic reaction in someone older. I say go for it, but I am a little biased : )

Ex sends flowers to my girlfriend at work?
My girlfriend has a kid with another guy
he has sent he flowers today... we agreed to not do the flowers thing... so she is receiving flowers form her baby daddy
everyone is asking me (we work together) did you get those for her i say no...... is it fair for her to be disappointed for getting me
Ex sends flowers to my girlfriend at work?
Yah mistake number 1. ALWAYS SEND FLOWERS ON VALINTINES DAY. She may say she doesnt want any blah blah blah, she wants them.
And I would seriously ask her about the flowers her %26quot;ex%26quot; sent her. You might be getting played.

I%26#039;m sorry that you are going through this, I%26#039;m in a similar situation myself, She is your girlfriend now, him being the father of her child doesn%26#039;t mean anything more than that he is father of her child, plain and simple....
That%26#039;s not normal behavior, I%26#039;d look into it....
Reply:ok two main thing..had she got over the daddy dad and had the daddy dad got over her???? asked her on her side nicely and then if she says yes she got over him that means you have competition. but dont do the same as what he does. if he send her flowers you make her a nice home dinner........if you do not know how to cook........buy take aways but pre heat and put in nice plates............its the thoughts that counts
Reply:Seriously, you need to excuse yourself and run to the store to buy her something. If nothing else, it makes you look bad to the people you work with that she%26#039;s getting flowers from someone else and nothing from you.
Reply:He might just be getting them in appreciation for what she is doing for their child.
Reply:You need to go over the top of this guy or she%26#039;s gonna start second-guessing!!!
Hurry up.... you don%26#039;t have much time left!

Well, that%26#039;s the danger of getting with a girl that has a kid. That child means a major connection with someone else.
Think of something to do for her with a quickness, pal.

Recently lost a baby at 20 weeks and have a hard time dealing with her?
orignal due date and wondered would it seem to weird if on the day she was supposed to be born i sent a family at the hosptial that has lost a baby some flowers. of course without putting my name on it not wanting credit. it seems like hosptials do not treat women who lose a baby very caring. once agin i will not put my name on the flowers it will just say may God give you the comfort you need thru this hard time.
Recently lost a baby at 20 weeks and have a hard time dealing with her?
I am so sorry for your loss. It is common to grieve over the baby you lost, even if other people (in the hospital, and in general) do not recognize that your loss is painful. Those who have not gone through a miscarriage or a still birth do not understand how much it hurts. What you need is for others to validate your feelings of loss, and the fact that your baby was real, and her life had meaning. You will probably always think of her on your due date or on the date she died.
(My own was June 28, 1986 and I still think of him on that date!) I think it is an excellent idea to send flowers on your baby%26#039;s due date to someone else who has lost their baby. Memorializing your baby this way will help you to make something positive out of your grief and loss, while simultaneously validating some other couple%26#039;s loss and helping them the way you would have liked to be helped. And yes, God does comfort us in our loss, and He is using you to comfort others. God bless you!
Reply:I%26#039;m sorry to hear about your loss, it is easier for me to say you will get through this but I know and you know God is w/ you and is in control...you will have so many chances to have beautiful children. May God bless you!!
Reply:that sounds like a wonderful idea. Also to help you get it off your mind, distract yourself. I wasn%26#039;t able to get pregnant for a while so i helpped at day cares and things like that. It was hard as heck at first, but it helpped me feel fuller. And when the time is right, maybe you can try again- don%26#039;t dwell on the loss, but never forget what happened.
Reply:That is so nice of u! No, I don%26#039;t think it%26#039;s weird. You sound like ur a very generous person who thinks of others before urself. A wonderful trait. And u%26#039;ve only recently lost ur own little one! Ur right, hospitals don%26#039;t have much sympathy for women who lose babys. I lost my baby at 40 weeks and they put me into the antenatal ward where I couldn%26#039;t hear other babies crying, but they also put me in a room on my own, not with other women. I needed to talk, and though I had my family around, it would have been good to talk to a stranger, if u know what I mean?
What u did for that other family was the most unselfish thing I have ever heard of. I%26#039;m so sorry for ur loss and wish I could make it up to u.

Baby cross stitch patterns...?
I am expecting my daughter soon and I wanted to make something to put on her wall. However all of the patterns that I can find, baby or flowers, all look uber weird or like they were kidnapped from a 70 year old.
Does anyone know where I can find some modern like, decent patterns for a baby or flowers (her name means flower) either on the web or in a book?
Thanks in advanced...

How do you know what your baby flower horn would look like when it grows bigger?
i dnt want to waste my money on rejects..i friend told me that flower horns in the same %26quot;litter%26quot;(im not sure how they call it) grows diffrently from one another..and some of them will look plain like a tilapia
How do you know what your baby flower horn would look like when it grows bigger?
A fish %26#039;Litter%26#039; is called a %26#039;Brood%26#039;.
You can%26#039;t really tell until it is larger, so the best way is to grow out more then one and just keep the one you like best.
Reply:The best way to tell what the color of your flower horn will be is by looking at the parents. besides even if the parent flower horn isnt the most outstanding fish, adding deep red lighting and proper nutrition could enhance your fishs colors Report It
